The following are books that I highly recommend. Some cover specific topics while others are more broad. Please feel free to submit suggestions for other books to add to this list.
Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki
This book is essential for everyone to read. Many people think this is a real estate book. While it does talk a lot about real estate it is a financial education book. A lot of people also think the story is made up and there were not really two dads. Who cares? The lessons and topics are still important and valid. This should be the first book you read if you haven’t already. Even if you’ve read it but it was a few years ago I recommend reading it again as a refresher.
Millionaire Success Habits by Dean Graziosi
The title may sound a little misleading as this book is more about changing your mindset. We are all programmed to think about money differently, usually depending on how we were brought up and what our parent's views on money were. This book helps identify those thoughts and habits that may be holding you back from achieving your financial goals, and provides strategies for overcoming those obstacles.
Lifeonaire by Steve Cook & Shaun McCloskey
Financial Freedom isn't always about having or making more money. How many times have you received a raise or got a new job making more money, only to still feel like you're struggling to get ahead? This book tells a fictional tale of two guys in very different places in life. One helps the other figure out what he truly values and how much money he truly needs to have the life he wants. It may not resonate with everyone but I think it will hit home for most of my readers.
